This endeavor stemmed from the client’s aspiration to craft a versatile venue that seamlessly merges indoor opulence with outdoor allure, catering to a diverse array of occasions ranging from weddings, parties and professional conferences. Entrusting Edward Finch with this vision, the directive was clear: conceptualize and execute a harmonious fusion of architecture and nature. Thus, Edward Finch embarked on the journey to design and project manage the creation of an exquisite orangery and landscaping with the addition of a ceremonial pergola, each element meticulously crafted to elevate the ambiance and functionality of the space, ensuring it stands as a beacon of elegance and sophistication for every event it hosts.
Challenges: The challenges encountered during this project were as formidable as they were diverse. With the hotel expected to maintain operational status throughout the construction phase and given the close proximity of the river with its tendency to flood in the winter months, posed a challenge for our team who faced the intricate task of navigating between progress, public interaction and weather disruption to deliver the project within the given timescales.
