Shrewsbury College – English Bridge
Refurbishment and Renovation Project
Challenges:The project faced notable challenges in navigating the construction activities around the college’s term schedule and examination periods, requiring careful coordination to minimize disruptions to ongoing educational activities. Leveraging the main holiday period allowed for the execution of the majority of noisy construction tasks, mitigating potential disturbances to students and staff during critical academic periods.
To effectively manage these complexities, a two-part contract structure was adopted. This approach facilitated the division of the project into distinct phases, allowing for flexibility in scheduling and resource allocation. By strategically sequencing the construction activities and aligning them with the college’s academic calendar, Edward Finch ensured minimal interference with day-to-day operations while achieving project milestones efficiently.
